Using AI to Reach Nontraditional Audiences

Michelle Cuthbert led a communications-track session titled “Using AI and Other Technologies to Reach Non-Traditional Audiences.”

During the session, she explored how artificial intelligence can help communicators connect with more people. In particular, she discussed ways technology can reduce language barriers when reaching non-English-speaking communities.

Participants also learned strategies for connecting with people who have limited access to technology. Additionally, Cuthbert examined outreach methods for audiences that traditional communication channels may not reach.

The session gave attendees practical ideas for making communications more accessible and inclusive. As a result, organizations can use these methods to build stronger relationships with the communities they serve.

Connecting Ohio’s Developmental Disabilities Community

The OACB Spring Conference brings professionals together to exchange ideas and discuss changes within Ohio’s developmental disabilities system. Its “On the Move” theme highlighted innovation and progress throughout the community.

Furthermore, attendees had opportunities to connect with peers, discuss effective practices and celebrate achievements across the state.

The Ohio Association of County Boards of Developmental Disabilities is a 501(c)(6) nonprofit organization. It supports all 88 of Ohio’s county boards of developmental disabilities.

Since its founding in 1984, OACB has provided advocacy, communications, professional development and technical assistance. The organization supports 616 volunteer board members and thousands of professionals working throughout Ohio’s developmental disabilities service system.

The Ohio legislature established county boards to coordinate services for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Today, local boards arrange comprehensive services for more than 90,000 children and adults.
